It is a sad reality that we live in a polluted world and that we are exposed daily to many toxins. That is one of the reasons I look to bring on board designers and craftswomen that care about the environment as much as they care about their craft. One such person is Steffi, the candle maker behind Grey Gate.
Grey Gate candles use soy wax. Why soy wax you might wonder? It is derived from soy beans, making it a natural and eco friendly renewable resource. It also offers a cleaner burn than petroleum based paraffin wax, which releases toxins into the air when heated. In addition to soy wax being a healthier alternative and better for the environment, it is also longer lasting. A win-win on all counts.
Grey Gate candles are handmade and hand poured in small batches. They are as natural and ethically sourced as possible, using a blend of essential oils and premium fragrances. They are also lovingly packaged in clear, recyclable glass jars and come packaged in a 100% cotton drawstring bag which can be reused to store any personal items. Recycling at its best!
And if you are wondering where the name comes from, Steffi recently moved into a new home in London with a Grey Gate… and thus the brand was born.
Grey Gate candles come in five gorgeous fragrances – each with their own olfactory story: Pomegranate, Fig & Vetiver, Cedarwood & Patchouli, Coconut & Lime and (my favourite), Peony & Blush.
