Rachel was one of the craftswomen that I met very early on, when my website was still a “work in progress”.
I met Rachel at a design fair in Shoreditch where she had a stand showcasing her beautiful ceramics. I was immediately drawn to the choice of colour in her tableware. Each creation comes in enticing colours such as celadon, mazarine and pistachio. Their shape reflects her personal style inspired by travels in Barcelona and Buenos Aires. They embody simplicity and geometry. Rachel focuses on making functional tableware using porcelain and stoneware clays. Her tableware begs to be held and cradled in your hand. It is the perfect marriage of utility and beauty.
Rachel is originally from Wales. She has now established herself in a Southwest London studio down the road from my office. Rachel immediately struck me as very personable, open and engaging. She shares her studio with a friend, a jewellery maker, and knows most artists and designers in the building. Rachel is that type of person – curious, sociable and driven to pursue her passion.
It is an absolute delight to have Rachel on board. I hope you appreciate the uniqueness of her tableware as much as I do.
